Resolutions the hotel industry should accomplish in 2018

Every year since we began our journey, at group PY Hotels & Resorts we have tried to better ourselves. For that reason, in the new year just begun, also the beginning of a new cycle, we would like to make some resolutions to fulfil throughout 2018, which can help improve, if possible, the usual standards in hotel industry.


- Improving every day is the main premise all hotel establishments work on daily, and similarly we promote self-improvement at every hotel and resort belonging to the group. Our staff is highly qualified and in constant training, with the aim of providing the highest quality in our services and making progress every day.


- As the saying goes, ‘renew or die’. Innovation is one of the main purposes that every hotel should bear in mind this year, not to be left behind as regards facilities, services or category, always offering the best to guests so they can overcome their expectations during their stays. Around the middle of the year, it will take place one of the most anticipated events in the island of Lanzarote: the opening of new facilities at Hotel Fariones, member of PY Hotels & Resorts, completely renewed and whose rating will rise from four to five stars. Among its new facilities, it will be equipped with new rooms and suites, according to the new category assigned, besides a Spa and spaces destined to five-star gastronomy. Definitely, one of the big bets of 2018 that will leave no one unmoved. In addition, the works of renovation and updating of every room in Suite Hotel Fariones Playa, which began in 2017, will be completed to have the 100 % of its rooms renewed, under the incentive of providing all guests with the same service and quality.


- Offering new services must always be on our list of resolutions: private, public or business events and celebrations, sport or leisure activities…It is necessary to revise the list of services offered and look for new options to have something new to offer to guests every year.


- Increasing the percentage of direct hotel reservations is another of the goals every hotel owner always wishes to achieve. This way, along with other factors, we can offer guests a customized accommodation, according to their tastes and wishes, providing them with multiple benefits as well. Consequently, both guests’ and hotel owners’ satisfaction will increase.


- As for the level of quality perceived by guests, new objectives to reach must be set every year, increasing the quality percentage at each of the areas analysed by the quality department. These indicators are among the most important and they will determine the possibility of a guest’s returning or not to the hotel on future holidays.


- It is also important to keep up-to-date in aspects as online reputation, which lets us know our guests’ wellbeing degree during their stays through the feedback they leave on websites as Booking, TripAdvisor or Holiday Check. For that reason, we will keep listening to the opinions they send with the aim of improving, answering to every reviewer and working afterwards, at an internal level, on the comments received, specially the most negative, in order to improve not only our guests’ experiences at our hotels, but also our ranking on review sites.


Definitely, along 2018 we will keep growing, working hard to improve our service quality and promoting national and international quality tourism, one of the most important sectors of economy in our country, for which we do our utmost every day at Group PY Hotels & Resorts.
